Project Description eBlocks Required Schematic
Ever Wondered why a baseball is heavier than a tennis ball? A simple experiment that can be done to study the effect of mass on velocity. The student can use the blocks given to them to build a system that measures teh velocity of a pitch. He can then use three different balls to measure the velocity of the pitch in each case.

Does air offer resistance to motion? The student can use the blocks given to them to build a system to measure the velocity of a pitch. He can measure the velopcity of his pitch at various distaces from the target pad. it can be seen that the speed at which the ball hits the target pad decreases with increase in distance. This is because of the decelerating effect of air.

Why is land warmer in days and the sea is warmer in the nights? This experiment helps the student to understand how different materials absorb and retain heat.

Does friction affect the motion? The friction offered by a surface resists the motion. Using the blocks given to them the student can do experiments with different surfaces to see how the friction affects the motion by building a simple system as shown in the schematic.

Will the given rain water affect the plants? If pH level indicates the acidity of the water. If the water is acidic then it is harmful to plants. If the pH level is less than 7 then the Red LED will glow indicating water is acidic and it is harmful for the plants.

Does salt water have higher boiling point than normal water? The boiling point of different solutions is measured using temperature sensor and displayed.

Does the size of the container affect the rate at which liquids cool down? As the size of the container varies the rate of cooling also varies and the time required to cool down is displayed.

Does the weight distribution inside vehicle affect the rate of vehicle ? When the weight inside the vehicle is increased the speed of the vehicle is decreased and required time is displayed.

Does the inclination of slope affect the rate of object? The inclination of the slope affects the rate at which an object falls. The student can use the blocks and vary the inclination of the slope and calculate the velocity of the ball in each case.
