eBlock Educational Science Kits
The goal of this project is to enable middle-school and high-school students a hands-on experience of testing and using the concepts they learn in science and math classes. By creating a set of basic intuitive building blocks students can implement a variety of systems without having any programming or electronics knowledge. In addition to the design and implementation of intuitive devices and interfaces, this research will also have a strong education oriented focus, working with students to re-enforce math and science skills, make classes more fun while still educational, and introduce students to engineering.
- Development/extension of a set of building blocks usable by middle-school and high-school students to enhance science education.
- Development of intuitive and usable physical prototypes and interfaces.
- Development of the underlying computation and communication protocols.
- Involvement in outreach projects to test the effectiveness of our educational kits and engage students in engineering.
