Using the Projector in Room 512
First and foremost, DON'T UNPLUG ANYTHING!!!! Everything should
be plugged in so that you can utilize all systems. If you have any
problems, come by 231 or email help@ece.arizona.edu
with your questions. That out of the way, let's look at what we have.

Figure 1
The keyboard and mouse on the left are for the Sun workstation,
the set on the right are for the windows PC. The monitor will display
whatever is being projected, so to begin turn on the projector. To do
this, you must push the power button on the remote (blue button) while
pointing the remote at the front of the projector. The projector can take
up to 3 minutes to warm up, so watch for the light on the bottom to change from
red to green. The remote is not terribly powerful, so it may take several
times before the projector activates. Try standing directly in front of the projector
with the remote and pressing the power button if you are having troubles. Side
note: you may wish to use the remote's built in laser pointer, which can be activated
by pressing the button "Laser".

Setting the Projector:
The porjector can be set to read from the Elmo, the Sun Machine, the Windows PC, or a laptop.
To set the projector use the box sitting at the top left corner of the desk and turn the nob
to the device you wish to use. See figure 3:

Figure 3
Using the Windows PC:
To use the PC, the Elmo is not used and may be turned
off. First, set the switch to "PC" and allow a minute to display the PC.
Once the projector has been set, you should see the PC being displayed on
both the monitor and the projection. If you do not, check to make sure that
the PC and monitor are turned on. Remember that the keyboard and mouse on
the right are the ones that control the PC.
Using the Sun Machine:
To use the Sun box, first make sure the projector switch is set to "sun" and
allow it a minute to switch to the new display. Once the projector has been
set, you should see the Sun being displayed on both the monitor and the
projection. If you do not, check to make sure that the Sun and monitor are
turned on. Remember that the keyboard and mouse on the left are the ones
that control the Sun Machine.
Using the Elmo:
To use the Elmo, first make sure that the Elmo's
"Input" is set to "Main". The buttons are pictured
below in Figure 3. Next change the projector switch to "Elmo" and allow it a minute
to change to the Elmo. Once the projector and Elmo have been set,
you should see the Elmo Output being displayed on both the monitor
and the projection. If you do not, check to make sure that the Elmo and the monitor
are turned on. Remember to turn on one of the Lamps for better viewing
(buttons on the front of the Elmo).

Figure 4
Using a Laptop:
To use a laptop, first connect the laptop to the monitor output
cord marked "Laptop". If you need an internet connection, use
the Ethernet Cable labeled "Laptop". Now you need to change the
project switch to "laptop" and allow it a minute to change displays.
Most laptops require a special keystroke in order to output to a monitor.
This is usually something like Fn-F5, but varies from laptop to laptop.
Make sure that your laptop is outputting to the monitor port. Once that is
complete, you should see your laptop being displayed on both the monitor and the
projection.
